Our paths might never have crossed. Maksym grew up in eastern Ukraine, in Kharkiv, while Diana came from the west, from the small town of Smotrych in the Khmelnytskyi region. Hundreds of kilometers and entirely different life paths separated us. But sometimes it is the most unexpected circumstances that lead people to where something special awaits them.

In 2022, the war forced many Ukrainians to leave their homes. That is how we both ended up in Norway, in the city of Bergen. Here, Ukrainians began to come together, support one another, and spend time as a community. One of those small traditions was game nights. And that is exactly where our first meeting took place.

Over time, something deeper than a simple acquaintance began to grow between us. We were drawn together by conversations, shared laughter, quiet moments side by side, and a sincerity that was impossible to miss. Diana always brought light, a smile, and songs that could enchant anyone. And Maksym found more and more joy and warmth in those gatherings.
